A Gift of Chocolates or Flowers Will Work Wonders

Tuesday, October 6th, 2009

First of all it depends on your partner to whom you are going to give. I prefer chocolate if your partner is male or else I prefer flowers.

Why I am saying it like this? It is because boys do not generally like to have flowers as it may say they are a little effeminate but they are all liking to give flowers to their girl partners. Maybe today men would accept flowers if it is known up front that the receiver actually likes this type of gift and would not be offended by it.

Usually girls will love flowers as a gift from anyone and it is little known that in India they use flowers to compare girls by associating a particular girl with a type of flower. Parts of a girl may also be compared to different flowers like, a girls lips are compared with the color of a rose, the smell of their hair is compared with sweet smelling jasmine flowers and so on.

Likewise sometimes even here we use the same comparisons and also compare the girls with different flowers. So I prefer flowers as an ideal gift to give to girls of all ages.

You may have even heard that girls sometimes have referred to calling a cute boy a chocolate boy. So giving a boy chocolates seems like a nice thing to give as a gift to boys or other males and girls, flowers definitely. The type of flowers or chocolates does not seem near as important as the fact that you have thought of them enough to go out and buy them something nice.

Flowers find themselves in many strange places even hospitals. If you know of a boy or girl that are terminally ill then giving them flowers can lift their spirits greatly.

Will Buying Flowers From a Florist Help Boost The Economy?

Tuesday, October 6th, 2009

When you buy flowers from a florist, you not only bring a smile to the recipient, but the benefits can be felt throughout the floral supply chain. The florist obviously makes a profit from your purchase. And, the more flowers the florist sells, the greater his buying power and access to deeper discounts from his suppliers. The more profitable and successful the florist’s business, the more likely he is to require more staff to help operate his business.

A florist needs staff to perform all of the daily operations of the business, including receiving and stocking of inventory, preparing flowers for bouquets, designing, assembling and delivery of floral arrangements. A florist also needs sales staff to assist customers over the phone and in person. Behind each successful florist shop is an entire supply chain of flower growers and wholesalers.

Each person in this chain, from the horticulturists, growers, harvesters to the brokers, distributors and truckers, benefits from your purchase. Those benefits extend can extend from your local area to as far as the Netherlands, South America or South Africa. Typically, only the larger, floral retailers order in such large quantities that the wholesalers and middlemen are eliminated from this supply chain.

Regardless of the source of your flowers, if you buy from a local florist, your local economy benefits. So, spend $20-$50 on a nice bouquet or floral arrangement and you can be assured that you have done a good deed for the economy. And, that is a small price to pay for the warm fuzzies, smiles and hugs you’ll receive from your loved one.

Do I Buy My Partner Chocolates or Flowers?

Tuesday, October 6th, 2009

Mother's Day Flowers
It depends on what you think your partner would like. Why not get them both? But, before you buy them chocolates or flowers you will need to find out if they are allergic to flowers or diabetic and can’t eat chocolates. That way you won’t waste your money on something that they can’t really appreciate because they can not enjoy the gift that you have given them. Once you find out that they are not allergic to flowers or they can eat chocolates find out what kind of flowers or chocolates that they like.

If you are going to buy her flowers make sure it is something she likes not what you personally like. That goes the same way with chocolates.

Since there are so many choices to choose from ask her in advance, find out what her likes and dislikes when it comes to flowers and chocolates without giving her a clues that you might give it to her as a gift. She may like something simple and not that extravagant. It all depends on what kind of personality that she has. Bigger doesn’t necessarily mean that it is better. You can just give her a simple red rose and she’ll appreciate it.

I think chocolates would also be nice.

I think chocolates would also be nice.

It’s the thought that counts. But then again some girls would like something big and extravagant. If you are going to choose chocolates to give her find out what kind of chocolates she likes. Does she like dark, milk, white chocolates? Boxed assorted chocolates? Foreign or American chocolates? Why not get a bouquet or a gift basket of assorted chocolates? For me I would personally prefer chocolates over flowers because you can enjoy eating the chocolates and I’m allergic to flowers and also they wilt and day in just a few days.
